BMW test trials Gas powered trucks

Gas is taking over as the preferred energy source for transportation. Whilst LPG is already being used in powering ships in Korea, BMW has test trialled an Iveco LNG-powered truck for its logistics operation, as “a reasonable, sustainable alternative to conventional diesel” according to Dr Thomas Irrenhauser. Nigeria risks losing position in global Gas industry

The delay by the Nigerian government to make its Final Investment Decision on LNG trains seven and eight is set to cause Nigeria lose its position as a leader in the Gas global industry. The NLNG, which had taken extensive measures to ensure the smooth making of the FID, indicates in its latest report that “Nigeria LNG Limited is the most significant arrow-head of the Federal Government’s quest to eliminate gas flaring and derive value from the country’s 187 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves.”

Iran set to increase gas supplies to Armenia.

Reza Ardakanian, Minister of Energy Iran, told reporters today that the country, under the framework of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission, is ready to increase its natural gas supplies to Armenia. Transgaz wins bid for purchase of Moldova gas grid operator

Transgas, a Russian state-owned monopoly as part of plans towards internalization, has won the bid to acquire Vestmoldtransgaz which operates the Moldovan section of Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeloine. This will give Transgaz full control of the gas interconnection between Moldova and Romania.
