China sets big goals for natural gas consumption

In line with its goals to help combat climate change, China will cut down its coal consumption to half of the current energy mix by 2020. Rwanda - New LPG (cooking gas) regulations

Governments of several African countries are implementing policy regulations and initiatives to drive the switch from biomass and solid fuels to using LP gas for cooking, as a measure to provide access to cleaner energy and achieve the UN sustainable development goals. Kazakhstan – Gas pipeline investment opportunities are open

With a continual annual increase from 8 to 52 billion cubic meters of gas production in Kazakhstan, the president of the country, NursultanNazarbayev has ordered the construction of a new national gas pipeline. Investment funds, especially from international financial institutions are being sought to complete the project which is expected to be implemented in 18 months. India to receive first U.S consignment of LNG this month

Indian state-owned utility GAIL has signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with US LNG exporter Cheniere Energy to import 3.5 million tonnes of Liquefied Natural Gas per annum over a 20-year gas import deal. This will be the first natural gas consignment India receives from the United States, and this will strengthen the trade relations between the two countries. Yamal LNG ships its first Million tonnes of LNG cargo

The Novatek-led Yamal facility in the Russian Artic has achieved a milestone shipment of its first million tonnes of LNG cargo. Operated by Novatek, Russia’s largest independent gas producer, the average production rate of the facility has exceeded the plant’s design capacity by 9% during the first three months of operation.
