Cold weather blast: Gas prices could be well supported in May
Weather models indicate that there could be one last period of extreme cold weather before spring arrives. This suggests that natural gas prices could be well supported – which is good news for suppliers and producers. The Gas is greener on the other side of the coal.
Since China and South America began their switch from coal to natural gas, the air quality in these cities have ‘drastically improved’ and they have managed to slash air pollution without sacrificing economic development. According to the International Gas Union, the countries have succeeded by introducing policies to improve end-use energy efficiency, increased combustion efficiency to reduce soot and incentivized the use of renewable energies. NLPGA: Federal government is interested in growing the Nigerian LPG market.
The vice president of the Nigerian Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association, MrNuhuYakubu, has disclosed that the Federal Government of Nigeria was involved in, and facilitated the seamless formation of the association which is committed to increase the investment in production and use of LPG in Nigeria. Nigeria: Major stakeholders make progress towards FID on $10 billion LNG project
Stakeholders have made progress in taking the final investment decision of the construction of Train 7 (to complement the other existing 6 LNG trains) which will boost the nation’s gas production output from 22 MMTPA to 30 MMTPA. NLNG Limited, which directly manages the project, said in a statement that “The best bet for Nigeria is gas. It is available in abundance and three times cleaner than oil in terms of carbon content…” This demonstrates the commitment to position Nigeria for the future.
