Back From The Future

Despite its oil output in July which came in above the demand forecast led by gains in Libya and Nigeria, Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has raised its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2017 and 2018 saying consumption will rise by 1.28million barrels per day. Moving forward, OPEC said its output rose by 173,000 barrels per day in July to 32.8million barrels per day. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries said the world would need up to 32.42million barrels per day next year. Killing All Birds With A Stone

The Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi signed a new law this week that established a natural gas regulatory authority to oversee licensing and development of opening the gas market. Sharjah based Dana gas, one of the companies to benefit from the new law with its first quarter output nearly 41,000 barrels per day stated that the decision to open the natural gas market will also help fuel growth. Another Red Sea In Jordan?

Many years back the red sea was used to get the children of Israel out of Egypt but now it is been used to move Israeli natural gas to Egypt. The gas would reach Egypt through a pipeline in Jordan operated by Jordanian-Egyptian Fajr for natural gas transmission and supply, instead of the normal route through Egypt's Sinai desert. The Sinai desert route is stuck over hefty fine Egypt has been ordered to pay to Israel for cancelling an earlier contract under which it supplies gas to Israel.
