Another explosion has ruptured the Escravos to Lagos Pipeline (ELP) in Warri South LGA, Delta state. This is coming just few days after the initial explosion earlier in the year that caused a power shortage to several parts of the country, and which had been fixed according to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The year has started on a high note for the gas industry in Algeria, as flows of gas from the country into Spain via pipeline have been at multi-year highs so far. Due, primarily, to firm domestic demand, Spain received a total of 54 million cu m of gas for Monday alone, reaching its highest levels since 2013.

A fire outbreak due to a punctured gas pipeline has occurred for the first time in 14 years within the Ilala Municipality in Tanzania. The incident, which affected 22 manufacturing plants and destroyed one house, was caused by negligence of a water pipe contractor.
