Sigh. Better late than never.

Nigeria, the world’s second largest gas flarer, plans to make gas flaring more costly for companies that have escaped the payment of billions of dollars despite being fined, Nigeria’s Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun said in a January 23 interview. This is coming several years after gas flaring was formally banned in 1984 and declared "unconstitutional" by the Nigerian Supreme Court in 2005.

Pipeline well on track!

Gazprom has disclosed a 57 percent completion of its TurkStream natural gas pipeline project which is set to deliver 35 percent of Turkey’s gas needs. Gazprom, a global energy company focused on geological exploration, production, transportation, storage, processing and sales of gas, gas condensate and oil, sales of gas as a vehicle fuel, as well as generation and marketing of heat and electric power. The United States has revealed that it considers Nord Stream 2 as a threat to Europe’s energy security. This was disclosed through the U.S Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson in Warsaw on Saturday.
