Finally, Nigeria to end gas flaring within 2 years

Ahead of the 2030 United Nations deadline on flare out, Nigeria is set to end gas flaring completely within the next two years. According to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Kachicwu Ibe, “We are going to try and change our dynamics from being an oil producing country to being a gas producing country, because that is really what we are. Now we need to move from policies to directives.”

Mozambique gets IFC funding

CTRG, one of Mozambique’s first independent power producers will receive an investment of $55 million from the IFC to support the close of project financing. The gas-fired power plant provides highly reliable and competitively priced power to Mozambique’s national utility under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
