Nigeria has vast deposits of associated and non-associated gas, estimated to be in excess of 180 TCF (trillion cubic feet), placing it among the world's top ten in terms of proved natural gas reserves. The ratio of reserves to output is listed as 109 years, however geologists and earth scientists have strongly suggested that there may be undiscovered reserves in proportions nearly quadruple the declared values.
