WEEKLY NATURAL GAS REVIEW

The European Union has announced it will no longer classify Power plants fueled by natural gas as a sustainable investment in Europe. Reutters reports that the only exception to this rule lies in the investment meeting emissions limit which reports say none currently comply with, according to draft European Union regulations.

The current rule of the EU prescribes that projects can only be classified as sustainable if they make a “substantial” contribution to curbing climate change - gas power plants must not produce more than 100 grams of CO2 equivalent per kilowatt hour.

It was reported by Reuters that from a senior official, Azerbaijan will move ahead with plans to feed natural gas into an expanded pipeline network to southern Europe, even as violence rages in the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave for the sixth week.

A mountain enclave internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan but populated and dominated by ethnic Armenians, the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh has raised concerns about the safety of oil and gas pipelines in Azerbaijan.

The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, or TAP, stretches 878 km (546 miles) from Turkey 's border with Greece through the mountains of Albania and the Adriatic Sea to Italy and is far from Azerbaijan.

Yusuf Gagdi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Navy Committee, has announced that the Committee would do everything within its constitutional powers to help the Nigerian Navy perform optimally.

Reuters reported that as Democrat Joe Biden advanced closer to the White House in a tight U.S. presidential election, oil prices were relatively steady on Thursday, while questions remain about more enormous stimulus to help the economy in the face of the Coronavirus crisis.

Brent oil dropped by 1446 GMT and the U.S. 2 cents to $41.21 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate ( WTI) crude at $39.02 was down 13 cents, or 0.3%. On Wednesday, both contracts jumped around 4 percent.

CenterPoint Energy has stated that it has submitted a rate proposal to state regulators aimed at recovering the costs of its 7-year $240 million modernisation pipeline program in southwestern Indiana for its South Indiana Gas and Electric Pipeline (SiGECO).

In order to comply with Federal safety regulations, ensure continued safe, and efficient delivery of the gas services of more than 113,000 clients, the Pipeline Modernization Proposal was filed in 2013 with the Indiana Use Regulatory Committee. Since 2013, this study has reduced methane emissions by 36 percent

The Meleiha concession in the Western Desert will be explored and built by IEOC, Eni's joint venture with EGPC, and the Russian firm Lukoil, while the second deal between EGPC and BP will be for the South Ghareb Offshore concession in the Gulf of Suez.

Gas transmission by India's Gujarat State Petronet Ltd will increase by about a quarter in the next fiscal year beginning in April as it connects northern regions to an existing grid in the western state, a company official said on Tuesday.

India's coronavirus lockdown affected pipeline construction, with a daily capacity of 30 million cubic meters (mmscmd) and was delayed by the initial completion date of December.

How LPG is contributing to the growth of SMEs in Africas: Your One Stop LPG Provider

A crucial component of human life is energy. Reliable access to modern, reasonably priced energy is essential for a country's social and economic development.
